I really liked how ominous the game looked! I loved the way you used subtle horror to add this almost Junji Ito-esque uneasiness to the entire game.
I should say though that there's a glitch where after crafting the Song of the Sea, I used it at the house next to the shore which removed it from my inventory.
This in turn hard locked me from the game's ending since I also ended up saving afterwards lmao and since the item wasn't in my inventory the game treated it as if I didn't have the item to begin with.
tysm for playing!!! :D and yes haha, we've seen that issue appear before and are in the progress of updating the game without the bug shgdhj sorry if that affected your experience with our game ;v;
Super fun! I love the visuals and overall environment for the game. The main character is so interesting (name, appearance, how they reference their grandfather and childhood memories) I wish the experience was much longer, encompassing childhood so we could really 'live' in the moments referenced. I feel so sad about the grandpa's situation.. Overall the puzzles were fun, dialogue great, and setting fantastic. I ran into a couple bugs and I think the ending could be stronger, but this is an overall awesome experience!
Thank you so much for checking our game out and having this video!! It was awesome to see your playthrough haha.
Thank you also for the wonderful feedback, we really appreciate it! We have fixed some of the bugs in the meantime, and are working on others.
As a side note, I believe I sent a small message on twitter for the bug clips that was mentioned previously on your rating, hope that's an appropriate place to reach out to :> anyways again tysm!!
Oh gosh I did not see a message from you, I'll try to have that hosted somewhere by tomorrow morning for you! I'll send a message on twitter if you have the same name? or you can Discord me, sakeriver
ohh this was a really cool demo with a gorgeous artstyle and an intriguing story!! :D
i absolutely ADORE the visuals here. they're a perfect mix of like, old gameboy graphics and modern pixelart, and the result has an ungodly amount of personality. pretty much everything was pure eye candy (i gotta highlight the banner image in the website, it's SO so good). the main sprites are great too; and i love how when you move to the sides the character still looks at the screen haha. the colors also perfectly sell the "rundown town" look of everything. and the main character contrasts with the background! such a clever use of color. ohh man this game looks beyond amazing.
i loved the story too! it's simple but really intriguing and makes you question what's happening at every turn. i love how the beginning letter clashes so much with what the grandfather tells you. the story's really good at making him seem just confused and well-meaning, before you start questioning just for how long the town has been like this and if he actually knows more than he lets on. it's an engaging mystery that works pretty well!
(also, didn't know where to put this but the combining items thing was COOL AS HELL. i love seeing a staple of point-and-click games being used in rpg maker. ik it was only used once but i legit loved it haha)
i had a couple of issues; the door you have to hide in has a different sprite when you walk into the store. i understand it had to stand out for the player to check it but there could've just been some sparkles like in other parts of the game, maybe it wouldn't have looked so out of place. and when you talk to grandpa after getting the supplies, you can repeat the dialogue where you have dinner after it's over. also idk if it's intentional, but at the end the grandpa sprite appears sometimes in the right side of the screen? maybe this was on purpose idk, it just looked odd.
i will say that i've looked at other comments and i didn't have problems some people mentioned, so props for keeping the game updated! :D
this was an AWESOME demo that left me really intrigued to know how the story continues. if it keeps getting worked on, i think it will surely lead to a fantastic game!! :>
Tysm for your kind comment omg!! The whole team really appreciates it haha, we hope to send in some updates soon too~ Thank you for the feedback as well! the door specifically will be fixed very soon.
Yes i know it's blocked off, but it technically isn't because there's a transfer tile that takes the player there, and then you're forced to restart because it's impossible to move afterwards is what I meant! But I do like the details and artwork so far!

oook... so now i can't escape the monster at all...
I got stuck here- walking next to this leads to what I can only assume is a test area/shore?
Hello!!Yes, it's blocked off for now but we are planning on expanding once we publish the future parts.
Thank you for playing! :D

ohhhhh good to know, thank you!! We're definitely on that haha
this looks very good, but a saving option would be nice, especially since there are chases😔

Saw this in discord but ty for playing! We're going to discuss that soon, thank you for the review :3
